Cake by Ayaka
Hi my name is Ayaka and I am the owner, creator and patisserie chef behind Sunshine Coast based cake company Cake by Ayaka, which was originaly established in Melbourne in 2017.
Growing up in Japan, I learnt from an early age the art of baking and putting traditional Japanese flavours together to make delicious cakes. In my early 20’s I was lucky enough to travel the world and it was Europe that I fell in love with their style of cake making and the art of patisserie.
Today these influences have sharped the way I bake and the flavours I put together to make my cakes. While working in the industry for over 10 years I have also learnt that the most important ingredient is passion and it’s this passion drives me to create new flavours and experiment with new ideas.
My passion for cake making also inspires me to create new flavours and new designs. This is why I change the menu regularly. I also believe in using ingredients that are in season at different times of the year this helps me to make better tasting cakes. These seasonal flavours brings out the best in my cakes and its this focus on taste that makes my cakes unique, this also keeps my customers interested and coming back for more!!
